At a recent formal  wedding performed in the St. Paul Lutheran church in Austin, Miss Genelle Knippa, 1715 Palma Plaza, of Austin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Knippa, 1715 Palma Plaza, of Austin, and Dan Wesley Hodge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan L. Hodge, 1812 West Avenue H, of Temple, were united in marriage.  The service was read by the Rev. Albert F. Jesse.

Palms, white tapers and white gladioli bouquets were arranged on the chancel.  Traditional wedding music was played on the organ by Carl A. Fehr, brother-in-law of the bride and assistant professor of music at William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va.  Miss Valerie Steglich sang "The Lord's Prayer."

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a an ice-blue satin dress fashioned with a long, fitted bodice, high neckline, long...sleeves tapering to a point over the hands and a full...skirt  The last tier fell into a cathedral train.  Her ice-blue...veil fell from a pearlized ...of orange blossoms.  Her only jewelry was a rhinestone necklace and her flowers were an arrangement of white glamillias and ice blue lilies of the valley.

She was attended by her sister, Mrs. James Burnette, as matron of honor; Miss  Vermell Roemer of Houston, and Mrs. Fred Bischoff off Temple, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaids, and her niece, Sally Knippa, as flower girl.

The matron-of-honor and the bridesmaids wore...satin dresses with fitted bodices, full skirts with flared...and...sleeves, brimmed hats with open...and long gloves of bronze satin.  The flowers were bronze and yellow chrysanthemums.

The flower girl wore a blue satin dress with full...skirt and puffed sleeves.  She carried tiny yellow chrysanthemums with matched the flowers in her hair.

Fred Bischoff of Temple, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man.   Ushers were Dick Thordarson and Dan Hagar of Houston, Norbert Renker of Austin, and Carl Tice of Lampasas.

A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents.  The mantle was bedecked with an arrangement of white gladioli and white tapers, and the table was laid with a cloth of Irish linen and centered with a n arrangement of white gladioli.  A miniature bride and groom topped the...bride's cake.

For traveling, the bride chose and aqua suit with black accessories and a glammelia corsage.  After a short wedding trip, the couple will be at home at 2203 Brazos, Houston.

Mrs. Hodge was graduated from Austin high school and the University of Texas, where she received a bachelor of business administration degree in August 1947.  She has been employed for the past four and a half years with the Texas Employment commission and a member of the University of Texas Ex-students association.

Mr. Hodge was graduated from Temple high school and Texas University, where he received a bachelor of business administration degree in January 1948.  While at the university he was a member of the Propeller club, ...and the Ex-servicemen's Association and is now a member of the Ex-students association.  He served three years in the US Air Corps and spent some time in the South Pacific. . He is now employed with the Charles T. ...company in Houston.
